Health Alert: Breast Cancer and Skin Care - Mineral Makeup |

There has been alot of talk about parabens and phalates in our skin care and mineral makeup. It is very frustrating to buy mineral makeup thinking you are making a healthy choice and only to find out they hid talc and other unhealthy ingredients in them. Now, some makeup companies (even large ones) have chemicals in their makeup that may actually cause cancer. Yes, I said 'may'. But I don't know about you, I don't want to risk any chance of getting cancer. It is already on the rise as are asthma and other health risk due to our chemicals in the environment. Even chemicals that we have chosen to add to our homes through the cleaners. If you'd like to read more about these dangerous chemicals in the skin care and mineral makeup, please click here. It is no secret to the industry. Just click here and see for yourself.
After reading this article and noticing that Shaklee was not named, I immediately contacted Shaklee and asked them about the products. They told me that even though their products have never had any link or concern to increasing the risk of cancer, they chose to remove parabens from their products totally so the public won't have to call every company to see which ones are at a safe level and which ones aren't. What people forget is that ingredients may or may not be safe because of how they are processed, the amount contained in a product, or even how they are make the ingredient. With that in mind, as a health conscience consumer, we need to do one of two things: 1. call every company for every thing we use or 2. (MY CHOICE) find a company that you can trust and go with them. I don't have enough time or confidence in every company that I may or may not purchase from to call and question all the ingredients. In fact, when I did that with the plastic recalls, I ran into so many customer service people that weren't sure what their company actually had in the products. By the time I was done, I knew less than when I started.
I know Shaklee is safe because in 52 years of business the government has NEVER asked them to recall a product. They are the #1 natural nutritional company for a reason. They also are the first for many things such as the 1st multivitamin; the 1st fish oil supplements; the 1st Nutriferon supplements; the 1st cellular antiaging Supplements and more. Shaklee has had 8 consecutive quarters of growth.
Some people think it is paranoia to believe that chemicals increase the risk of illnesses - minor and major such as asthma, cancer, heart disease and more.
But Shaklee didn't create these statistics:
- Stay at home Moms have a 54% higher risk of dying of cancer than those who don't - our government contributes this to the household cleaners
- Bleach is listed as a pesticide according to our government
- less than 7% of the chemicals have been tested for toxicity and there are 83,000 chemicals
- in one decade there has been a 42% increase in asthma in children
- asthma deaths in children and young people increased by 118%
Let's take a closer look at chemicals found in JUST personal care products: 884 toxic 148 cause tumors 218 cause reproductive complications 778 cause biological mutations 378 cause skin and respiratory irritation
Now, these chemicals certainly add up and increase our chances of health risk. I am not going to subject my family to all the chemicals that the government is testing on us. Don't use something if the possible side effects are worse than the solution. Start to feel excellent and start converting your home to a safer home. You'll be amazed how fast you'll start to feel excellent. |
