nutrition and childrens health  The flu shot is one way to protect your health and your children's health from the flu, but this doesn't cover everything.  Some other things that you can do to protect your children's health and your health is to make sure you are getting enough sleep.  When you are sleep deprived, your immune system is lowered and you obviously tend to pick up more 'bugs' which, in turn, affect your overall health.   Another thing you can do is to make sure you and your family eat a balanced diet. Adding quality multi vitamins and minerals to your diet is a good idea regardless if it is flu season or not.  One of my favorite supplements is one that naturally boost my immune system and is nonaddictive.  It behaves like interferon in your body to increase your body's immune system.  It is excellent for elderly people, anyone with a weakened immune system, and even children.  In fact, it is great for everyone because virtually all of us have added stress and environmental stresses that can reduce our immune systems.  As with anything, always check with your doctor first.  My children actually use 1/2 the recommended amount.  To read more about this, click here.  Next, we have heard this a million times but please wash your hands (yes, with soap).   You don't always need to use an antibacterial soap as long as you wash them thoroughly for say 30 sec.  I always tell my kids to sing "Happy Birthday" or the "ABC"s.  These are some simple ways that we can protect ourselves and our families from all the 'bugs' floating around.

SLEEP + NUTRITION + WASH HANDS = FEEL EXCELLENT with great health.

Of course, some other things that help are exercise and lowering the toxins that you are around everyday.  Click here for ways to change your home to a green, toxin free home; to purify the air or the water in your home or office.

REMEMBER:  EVERYONE DESERVES TO FEEL EXCELLENT
