There will be times when your relationship goes into a rut. It’s important that you don’t let these downtimes ruin what you’ve got. It’s healthy to have disagreements but you need to make sure that if it feels like things are sliding away that you take the proper steps to rekindle the flame. Your relationship is worth fighting for and there are steps to take to reignite the spark that originally got you two together. Consider these tips to keep the romance alive:

.Go to your local florist. Many florists will give away leftover rose petals or just charge a couple bucks. Lay down a trail of petals to your bedroom and onto the bed. Have a gift waiting – lingerie or chocolates. This is certain to be a change from the norm. Imagine the look on your partner’s face if you actually took the step to make this happen. They’d love it.

.Go on a scavenger hunt. Leave a note to start a romantic scavenger hunt. Leave gifts at each location, such as a shirt to wear to dinner. The possibilities are never ending. The note could lead them to a romantic dinner or a favorite hotel. The anticipation of what’s to follow is sure to get the romantic juices flowing.

.Pepper your partner with emails. Send off romantic emails throughout the day to your partner expressing how excited you are to see him or her tonight. This is sure to brighten their day and will keep them riveted with anticipation. The only downfall to this plan is that your partner’s productivity at work may suffer, but they’re going to feel the old spark.

.Leave notes where they’re sure to be seen. Have a note prepared for your sweetie by the sink in the morning when they brush their teeth. Make breakfast and have another note waiting. Continue this trend throughout the day. This will arouse some deep feelings that may have been dormant lately in your relationship.

.Go back to a familiar spot. Go out to eat at the little bistro that you used to frequent when you just started dating. Go away for a long weekend to the getaway spot that you went to in the early days of your relationship. Just skip the old routine of dinner and a movie; it’s time to show your partner how you feel and a trip to the Olive Garden and the newest movie on a Friday night is boring.
