positive thinking, happy thoughts, health, mental health  That's right:  It is like the movie Happy Gilmore - "Find Your Happy Place".  Seriously, happy thoughts play a vital role in your health -  specifically in having good health.

By feeling good or happy you are less stressed which aids in many bodily functions such as
  • Healthy weight (metabolism)
  • Healthy blood pressure
  • Better digestion
  • Better sleep (ie recovery) and so on
So being positive and happy can at times be directly linked to your health.  Ask yourself these key questions:
  1. When was the last time you had a happy thought?
  2. How long did it last?
  3. What percent of the day was used having happy thoughts (what percent not so happy thoughts)?
Now, ask yourself this final critical question:  What are you going to do to change the numbers above?  What are you going to do to make the numbers higher for HAPPY THOUGHTS?  Your health will thank you.

PS You may find that you honestly feel that you don't have any happy thoughts.  Then it is time to "pretend" and focus on the whatever small but good thoughts you may have.  Even these can help your body and mind to be healthier.  The happier you are (the more happy thoughts you generate), the more these thoughts will grow and eventually suffocate the unhealthy negative thoughts.
